Through the recent research, the scoliosis experts conclude that the causes of scoliosis for 80% of the cases and those scoliosis cases are called idiopathic scoliosis. "Idiopathic" means unknown causes. Generally, the sorting causes of scoliosis can be regarded as follows:
Idiopathic scoliosis
The cause of this type of scoliosis is unknown and 80% of patients belong to idiopathic scoliosis.There are some researches showing that the children whose parents have scoliosis are 14 times more likely to be affected by scoliosis. The second factor is usually considered to be hormone. Some research also shows that hormone levels between the scoliosis patients and normal people are different which enables people to believe that hormone has something to do with the scoliosis. The last factor is that the abnormal development of the vertebrae of the spine or the soft tissues alongside the spine.
Congenital scoliosis
This means that the scoliosis is caused when the child is formed and grows in the mother’s abdomen. The factors like improper movement, abnormal vertebrae development, and lack of vertebrae can all be the causes of scoliosis.
This kind of cause means the nervous influence in the scoliosis. Some neuromuscular diseases and nervous injury can lead to scoliosis.
No matter what is the causes of scoliosis, it is easy to be corrected when people is being growing age. If we let the scoliosis develop without control, it can press viscera and even cause deformity.
